Words & Music, Hip Hop Digital Stacks

Hip Hop Storytelling

Beyond the podcast...There's a lot of stories in Hip Hop and in today's time different platforms from which to do it. I think often about Combat Jack's vision for the Mogul podcast. Or even prior to learning about podcast, D-Nice's Hip Hop video stories, and later storytelling strictly through audio form. I've been checking in between audio books to original programming about some of my favorite eMCees growing up. Some stories I was aware of from listening to interviews over the years. After listening to Rakim's Sweat the Technique, Revelations on Creativity from the Lyrical Genius, I've been thinking about how recorded audio will be used by Hip Hop to tell stories in different ways and on various platforms. Especially as time continues to do it's thing and new styles & personalities continue to emerge from the culture of Hip Hop...I think about these sort of original programs; these Hip Hop testimonies. Peace to Black Thought. Even knowing some parts of the story, there are so many details. So many other questions that connect the dots to his creative genius and the relationships he made along the way.

I accessed 'Tariq Trotter, Black Thought, 7 Years' through Audible. Hip Hop Digital Stacks.
